Comprehensive reports revealed substantial financial support for martyr families and war-disabled veterans, totaling over 144 million and 46 million Nakfa, respectively, underlining the government’s commitment to supporting its citizens in need.
Furthermore, financial contributions from Diaspora nationals amounted to more than 6.6 million Nakfa distributed among 1,177 families of martyrs. Allocations of over 1 million Nakfa were also made to provide assistance for orphans and victims of HIV/AIDS. The meeting underscored the importance of public education regarding the detrimental impacts of female genital mutilation and early marriages, showcasing sustainable awareness initiatives undertaken in these areas.
In terms of labor relations, a report indicated a high resolution rate of 96% among 2,438 cases through reconciliation. Participants engaged in detailed discussions about the presented report and meticulously planned for the upcoming year, 2025. Minister Gebreab emphasized judicious allocation of resources to effectively tackle social issues, while also calling for the preservation of progress towards eradicating harmful practices like female genital mutilation and underage marriage, applauding the Anseba region’s declaration as free from these practices.
