On Monday, a delegation from the Ministry of Interior of Libya’s Government of National Unity, led by Major General Mahmoud Al-Ajili, the head of the Criminal Investigation Department, commenced a working visit to Turkey. The delegation was warmly received by Lieutenant General Hussein Kurtoglu, the Deputy General Forces of the Turkish Gendarmerie, alongside several high-ranking Turkish officials. This visit aims to enhance security cooperation between the two nations under the memorandum of understanding previously established between their respective ministries regarding law enforcement and training enhancement.
Upon arrival, the Libyan delegation proceeded to the headquarters of the Turkish Gendarmerie, where they engaged in discussions on improving security collaboration, as well as advanced training programs. The delegation explored various facilities including the operations room, monitoring center, canine and equine training centers, the Cybercrime and Cybersecurity Department, and forensic laboratories, all aimed at solidifying joint efforts in enhancing security capabilities.
The Ministry of Interior of the Government of National Unity has established three memoranda of understanding with Turkey’s Ministry of Interior relating to training, rehabilitation, and coordination in law enforcement and security cooperation.
